Federal agents raided multiple locations across Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tuesday as part of ongoing fraud investigations — including the infamous daycare accused of corruption, the Quality Learning Center, formerly known as the “Quality Learing Center,” officials say.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed the report from Fox News congressional correspondent Bill Melugin, who said that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) had raided more than 20 locations, with many being Somali-linked businesses. Melugin said the raids come on the heels of court approval for 22 search warrants pertaining to social services fraud allegations, and not illegal immigration. Earlier this year, Minnesota was roiled by civil unrest in response to federal immigration enforcement actions, which resulted in the deaths of two citizens after clashes with law enforcement.
“Homeland Security Investigations, in cooperation with our law enforcement partners, executed criminal search warrants in Minneapolis relating to the rampant fraud of U.S. taxpayers’ dollars,” DHS confirmed in a reply to Melugin.

Both the investigations and the heightened immigration enforcement in Minnesota followed federal prosecutors’ allegations in December that approximately $9 billion was looted from Medicaid in the state.
The issue of Minnesota social services fraud caught national attention in late December when independent journalist Nick Shirley released a viral video accusing and confronting businesses and daycare centers, often Somali-linked, that he claimed were tied to the theft of government aid.
One standout point of Shirley’s video was the Quality Learning Center, then known as the “Quality Learing Center,” whose misspelled sign hung above a daycare center that Shirley said did not appear to have any children present at midday. The center was one of the sites raided, Melugin said.
The Daily Caller has previously reported that the Somali government and local terrorist group Al-Shabab may play a large role in enabling the fraud by allegedly trafficking people into the U.S., with millions of U.S. dollars leaving America to allegedly be exchanged into the hands of Al-Shabab before being laundered and then brought to Somalia.
The Quality Learning Center and the Department of Justice did not respond to the Daily Caller’s request for comment.
