EXCLUSIVE: Filming has wrapped in Norway on psychological thriller movie Dark Skulls, starring Thor Rosland (The Pendragon Cycle), Ragga Ragnars (Vikings), Christopher Rygh (The Head Hunter), and The Last Kingdom actor and World’s Strongest Man Hall of Famer Magnus Samuelsson.

Rosland leads the film as Rolf, “a former Viking warrior drawn into a spiraling mystery when his young daughter disappears. What begins as a search for answers evolves into a descent into paranoia, myth, and buried guilt, as Rolf uncovers a series of ritualistic killings marked by a cryptic sigil carved into the victims ’ bodies.”

Ragnars plays Freya, the child’s mother, described as an unrelenting presence who launches her own investigation when the village begins to accept the deaths as acts of the Gods. Rygh plays Vili, the calculating right-hand to Jarl Hakon (Paul Blair), the village’s powerful and strategic leader. Samuelsson portrays Ivar, a feared and exiled Berserker whose violent reputation makes him the prime suspect. Sue Maund (The Sandman) plays the Seer, a mysterious spiritual figure whose rituals blur the line between prophecy and madness.

Principal photography has wrapped following a 25-day shoot on location across Norway, including Gudvangen, Avaldsnes, and surrounding fjord regions. The production leaned into practical locations and natural light.

Dark Skulls is written, directed, and produced by Alex Morsanutto, founder of Silvermine Productions. His credits include producing the SXSW Special Jury Award-winning short Trapped and Scent of Pho. As a director, he has helmed projects including Hi-Glow Retro and Operation: Cavity.

The film is produced by Alex Morsanutto for Silvermine Productions, in association with Ali Ajouz of SAWA Entertainment and Nathan Rosenberg of MonoVision Films. Executive producers include Dylan Morsanutto for Silvermine Productions and Bobby Burkich.
