We have not so t-riffic news. Pari Kim and Tina Zhu Xi Caruso from Love on the Spectrum season three have broken up after a year of dating. “It’s mutual. [Pari] and I have spit up. We’re just friends now,” Tina shared in an Instagram post on April 24. “We are like Glinda and Elphaba in the way we advocate for what we believe in. I’m the Elphaba and I can’t wait to show the world how I advocate. Pari will continue to advocate like Glinda. I hope we can still advocate as friends for things we believe in like public transportation and disability advocacy.” Pari explained the breakup through her love of public transportation, something the two had bonded over during their relationship. “They are two different railroads on two separate lines but will always support each other when times call for it and cheer each other on from afar,” she wrote. “The purple will continue to sparkle unapologetically and the blue will continue to show up fiercely and proudly. They both make a good team but can also shine on their own as two individuals.”
Pari added more context on Instagram Stories, writing, “No matter what media and comments may come out about this news, just know I spoke from my heart and handled this with grace. I hope everyone continues to lead with kindness and compassion! 💜 I have spoken my truth!” She worried that she would upset her fans by sharing the news, but is happy she and Tina are both met with support. She concluded, “One chapter might have ended, but new ones can always be created through friendship and understanding.”
Thankfully, the cast of Love on the Spectrum has become a support system for one another as they navigate the highs and lows of dating in their early adulthood. Earlier this month, another couple, Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman, announced their breakup after five years of dating. During season four, Connor Tomlinson and Georgie Harris ended up calling it quits by the season finale.
