Kylie Jenner’s chillchella approach to festival style continues—but I’m far more influenced by her summer French manicure.
On April 17, the 28-year-old reality star and entrepreneur revealed she was back in Indio, California for weekend two of Coachella. Just like her sister Kendall Jenner—who forewent boho garb and cowboy boots in favor of a cropped tank top and white denim shorts last weekend—Kylie’s prioritized comfort (and abs) with a rolled up white ribbed tank and low-rise butter yellow jeans from her brand Khy. Her accessories were equally minimal, consisting of a soft pink hoodie wrapped around her waist, black Tabi flats, and a silver belly chain. You can see the full look here.
The only maximalist detail of Kylie’s look was the fat pear-shaped diamond ring on her left pinkie finger (don’t get any ideas), which highlighted a chic nail design that toes the line between the intricate styles of the past couple years and current minimalist trends.
Longtime nail artist Zola Ganzorigt used the Khy color palette prevalent in Kylie’s outfit to create a simple two-toned French manicure, opting for a muted, nearly nude pink on Kylie’s left hand and a soft, creamy yellow on the right, toping each nail off with two dainty crystals of various shapes and sizes for an added touch of sparkle. The key to keeping a bedazzled French manicure so low-key rests on the mid-length almond shape that’s not too short, but far more natural than even her more demure tips.

As a nail art connoisseur actively fighting against the bare nail agenda in my day to day life, I can say these are a great low-key option I’ll be sending to my own nail artist.
Wait, what’s low-key about a bedazzled French manicure? Well, when you consider the manageable length and sheer pinkish nude base coat that mimics a natural nail, you’ve got yourself a design that will continue to look chic in person and in photos as it grows out, likely giving you far more time between nail appointments than most summer colors or even a minimalist nude nail with a glazed chrome finish. Not that Kylie Jenner has to worry about that.
