There’s seemingly a new Onn 4K Pro streaming box version coming soon. The latest version will reportedly offer Google Gemini support and a design revamp after a slight price bump.
This new Onn 4K Pro is priced at $59.88, and its online listing was spotted by Android Authority. If you are not able to see the listing, simply change your address to Ventura, California, and you should be able to see it, as pointed out by a Reddit user. That’s a $10 increase on the previous Onn 4K Pro version. A new Reddit post now details the specifications after a user reported buying the device at their local Walmart store.
The Google Gemini support sticks out, as it would improve quality of life features such as voice control, search, and recommendations on the streaming box. Moreover, there’s now the ability to use Find My Remote using a voice command. Another key feature in the new version is the Matter-over-Thread support. This essentially allows the streaming box to have control over other smart home devices.
Apart from AI and Matter support and a bigger size, the latest version is holding on to its existing core specifications. So, the new device still offers 4K streaming, 3GB RAM, and 32GB storage alongside Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. On top of 4K streaming, you also get Dolby Atmos and Vision for better sound and video quality.
The device had its design and port layout leaked last month, which, as a Reddit user pointed out, is similar to Google TV Streamer’s design and layout. Google TV Streamer offers 4K streaming and 32GB storage as well, but with slightly more RAM (4GB). However, you only get Wi-Fi 5 support in the Google TV streamer. Thus, the Onn 4K Pro is a budget-friendly option compared to the Google TV Streamer, which is priced at $99.99.
