Hi Carolyn: My husband started a consulting business in 2020. As you may imagine, it was rough going for a couple of years. (I work full-time, so the mortgage was always covered.) Since then, he’s had some very profitable years, when we’ve been able to take nice vacations and upgrade cars, and he’s had some bad years when we have to pull back and go into credit card debt.
