While the Cannes red carpet is filled with dresses we can practically only dream of, Nice airport–the gateway for celebrities arriving at the Croisette–has become the place to find real inspiration. The airport serves as a runway for much more accessible styles that are easy to adapt to everyday life, like the Mango Selection dress Daisy Edgar-Jones wore on May 16.
For years, the Cannes Film Festival’s airport style has been a hot topic during the event. And it’s no wonder when celebrities elevate their everyday looks and parade before photographers in outfits much easier to replicate than those they wear on the red carpet. In the case of the Normal People star, Jones was seen wearing a white midi dress with an A-line silhouette and ruched details from Mango’s premium line. And while the exact dress is no longer available, Mango has a near-exact version with an open back detail that’s available on their website as well as Nordstrom.
With a clear nod to French style, Jones paired the dress with a selection of impeccable basics that elevated this simple design that’s destined to become one of the summer’s must-haves. She completed the look with soft black ballet flats, a Miu Miu bag, and a sand-colored sweater draped over her shoulders.
With this airport look, Daisy Edgar-Jones confirms that, although she is not French, she perfectly masters that je ne sais quoi so characteristic of women from France: a minimalist, sophisticated and relaxed style, which we will want to repeat as often as possible throughout the summer.
