The cruise ship at the center of the hantavirus outbreak is now heading towards the Canary Islands and sparking a global race to stop the virus from spreading further with contact tracing now underway in multiple countries. People who left the ship are being treated for the disease in Switzerland, South Africa and the Netherlands. NBC’s Raf Sanchez reports and Dr. Ashish Jha, a senior fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School, joins TODAY to break down what to know about the disease.
