FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary tells NBC News that the government “owes” veterans a speedy decision on psychedelic drugs that could help people struggling with drug addiction and suicidal ideation. President Donald Trump ignited wide interest in the psychedelic ibogaine when he signed an executive order meant to spur research into it and other substances touted as beneficial for patients struggling with ailments, such as PTSD.
