Dave Portnoy wasted no time weighing in on the Alex Cooper and Alix Earle beef. He tells the Chicks in the Office podcast that he thinks their drama is pure business, as he claimed that Cooper apologized to him for how she treated Bar Stool while negotiating her deal for Call Her Daddy, and for how hard it was to manage talent at Unwell Network. He also thinks their partnership was doomed from the beginning because Earle was already famous when Cooper signed her for the Hot Mess podcast. Portnoy also speculates that the backlash for the Unwell Winter Games and Sofia Franklyn’s upcoming memoir is adding fuel to the fire against Cooper.

He also denies the rumor that Cooper was jealous of Earle’s Carl’s Jr Super Bowl commercial from 2025. Portnoy asked Cooper if his Instagram analysis of the situation was accurate; she allegedly told him, “If I had a gun to my head and $10 million in a bag, I would not have done that Carl’s Jr ad.” It also perplexed the Bar Stool CEO that the two have the same publicist, Cait Bailey.

Portnoy agreed that one of them just needs to air out their dirty laundry. “Alix clearly hates her,” he concluded. “We need one of them to just say what happened. I don’t know why Alex Cooper didn’t if you’re going to go that far. I think it’s definitely contract stuff.”
