You will have to forgive us if Twitchy has become the ‘All Swalwell, All the Time’ media outlet over the past few days. It’s just WAY too much fun and impossible to resist pointing and laughing at this national embarrassment and disgrace to public office.
Ever since Kash Patel announced that the FBI would be releasing files related to Swalwell’s past inappropriate relationship with Chinese spy Fang Fang — and, more importantly, his alleged leaking of classified information to her in return for campaign fundraising — the Congressman and would-be California governor has been in non-stop damage control mode, not to mention full-on panic mode.
And we are SO here for it.
One thing we haven’t heard too often, however, is from other influential people whom Fang Fang also tried to trap in her honeypot. Of course, it makes sense that Fang Fang would try to sink her … well, fangs … into other DC power players. Any good spy isn’t going to put all of her eggs into one basket, particularly when that basket is Swalwell.
This morning, a clip surfaced on X from historian and Hoover Institution Fellow Victor Davis Hanson. In the video from 2025, Hanson recalled his one brief encounter with Christine Fang and took the opportunity to sum up Swalwell in three perfect words. Watch:
VDH: Eric Swalwell wasn’t the only one Fang Fang approached in CA — he was just the one stupid enough to fall into the trap.
“I wrote some critical things of China, and Fang Fang came to see me.”

‘You would have to be a stupid, narcissistic idiot to fall for that.’
Check, check, and BIG TIME check.
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Though Hanson could have added some more choice words, such as ‘cringe’ or even ‘flatulent.’
“Stupid narcissistic idiot” describes anyone who fell into the Fang Fang honey pot quite accurately.
VDH has a talent for using the right words to get the message across.— JP (@J_P1776) April 1, 2026
It’s that classical education, we imagine, that gives Hanson the ability to always come up with les mots juste.
In his defense, he is a stupid, narcissistic, idiot.

Remember when a blindingly drunk Swalwell claimed that ‘he only dates 10s‘?
We remember.
The Chinese word for ’10’ escapes us at the moment, however.
Swalwell Is The Beto O’Rourke Of The House …😅😂
Swalwell Will Probably Take That As A Compliment— JDPatriot62 (@JDPatriot62) April 1, 2026
LOL. That was another great line from VDH.
I guarantee Swalwell still thinks Fang Fang actually fell for him.

Oh, there is no doubt about that. Hanson included the word ‘narcissistic’ for a reason.
Swalwell doesn’t appear to be the brightest bulb.

There isn’t a single filament wandering around in that head of his.
Eric Swalwell is just a degenerate incel running for Governor of California, no big deal. My question is this: why is the media trying so hard to make it seem like these investigative files are untouchable? They obviously aren’t, so why the vicious front running? https://t.co/vpaqfyoNRM

We hope that was a rhetorical question. OF COURSE, the legacy media is going to run cover for Swalwell.
Right up until he loses in California. Then they will happily throw him under the bus, as long as it serves to benefit another Democrat.
@RepSwalwell @kenmartin73 @DNC @RepJeffries
No way now to conclude pimping president senility for re-election was an outlier. 😂💥
Judgment and competence are not considered in your vetting of candidates.
How do you expect to run on this brand?
Thanks @VDHanson https://t.co/kp8hYZlioT

We’re more than happy if Democrat leadership wants to stand by Swalwell.
We’d love to see their approval rating drop into the single digits.
Fang Fang tried to honeypot VDH! This is such a great clip. https://t.co/8WqsuQoDB9

The difference, obviously, is that Hanson is a highly intelligent man who wouldn’t be dumb enough to think that a provocatively dressed Chinese spy was into him.
Swalwell clearly cannot say the same.
“I wrote some critical things of China, and Fang Fang came to see me.”
“The way she changed accents and how she was dressed, you would have to be a stupid, narcissistic idiot to fall for that.”
“Anybody who would fall for her honeypot is just a joke.”@peterbakernyt https://t.co/Y12k3VJdBC

‘Just a joke.’
Three more words to encapsulate Swalwell’s entire career in government.
VDH with the perfect summation of Swalwell.

Absolutely on point from Victor Davis Hanson.
Chef’s kiss.
No notes.
