“Summer House” star Kyle Cooke is speaking out after his ex-wife Amanda Batula and West Wilson, who are both his co-stars on the Bravo show, publicly confirmed their romance.
Batula and Wilson released a joint statement on March 31 on their respective Instagram stories in which they addressed speculation about their connection. “We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected,” they wrote, in part. “Our connection grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship which made it especially important for us to approach this with care. As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling.”

Their statement and romance comes after Batula and Cooke, who tied the knot in September 2021, announced in January that they were separating, People reported at the time.
On April 1, Cooke spoke to the host of the “So Bad It’s Good With Ryan Bailey” podcast on the streets of New York and revealed how he is feeling about the “Summer House” scandal surrounding Batula and Wilson.
When asked how he is doing, Cooke replied, “I’m good. You know, I appreciate people checking in. I’m actually really worried about Amanda if I’m being honest.”
He said he spoke to her the night before she released the joint statement with Wilson and she gave him a heads up about the post. He also chatted with his estranged wife the following night.
“I understand people have all sorts of opinions, and I’m not justifying any behavior. But like, from what I’m seeing, she’s kind of getting cyber bullied,” Cooke shared.
He added, “All I know is West seems to be the kind of guy playing multiple women at the same time. Somehow, in all of this, like 50,000 people have decided that West deserves their follow. Meanwhile, they’re just lighting up Amanda. I just feel bad because, like, Amanda knows that what she did was wrong, and she’s trying to come to terms with it, but she is not well.”
Cooke revealed that he realized his ex’s relationship with Wilson wasn’t strictly platonic over the weekend.
But, he said he doesn’t know the exact timeline of the relationship.
“It definitely makes me second guess a lot of things last summer, at a minimum. Just how checked out she was. In my own unsuccessful ways, I was still trying to put an effort in. I mean, it’s a mental mind f— for me.”
Cooke and “Summer House” fans are currently watching the dynamic between Batula and Wilson unfold as Season 10 of the Bravo reality series, which was filmed last summer, is currently airing.
He told Ryan Bailey that he also received “some half-a—ed text message” from Wilson, who joined the show in 2024, about the situation. He later referred to the message as “word salad.”
Cooke then reiterated that he is concerned with how fans of the show are responding to the scandal. He advised viewers to reconsider their reactions.
“Amanda deals with mental health issues,” he noted. “Before cyber bullying her and then giving West a follow, maybe think twice … we’re still trying to figure all this out. I’m still trying to figure out the details. But I know I can imagine West is using the same charm that he’s used on just about every other chick.”
Cooke also called out Wilson for his behavior on the recent episode of “Summer House” Season 10 and for his comments during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” last week. At the time, Wilson said he and Batula “had just been hanging out” and referred to her as his friend.
Speaking more about his reaction to the news, Cooke said he is “frustrated” given that a “Summer House” spinoff, titled “In the City,” is set to premiere soon.
“There’s so much that gets unpacked there,” he said about the new series. “I’m obviously disappointed in her, but just hearing her and hearing how unwell she is, you know dark thoughts, I just ask people to just maybe let off the gas a little bit with the cyber bullying and hate.”
He confirmed that he has been in contact with fellow “Summer House” star Ciara Miller, as well. Miller and Wilson had an on-and-off relationship with Wilson for years, and Season 10 shows that the two were still flirtatious. Additionally, Miller and Batula have been close friends for years.
“Ciara and I have been in touch this whole week,” Cooke said.
