Peter Dinklage has joined the cast of FX’s “Alien: Earth” Season 2, Variety has confirmed.

While his character details are still kept under wraps, the “Game of Thrones” Emmy winner will be a series regular on the sci-fi series from “Fargo” creator Noah Hawley.

Inspired by Ridley Scott’s 1979 blockbuster — and taking place two years before the events of the original film — “Alien: Earth” is the first TV installment in the “Alien” franchise. It stars Sydney Chandler as humanoid robot Wendy, and the cast also includes Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, Adarsh Gourav and Timothy Olyphant.

Production on the second season will begin in May at London’s Pinewood Studios, which is where the original film, “Alien 3” and “Prometheus” filmed. The first season of “Alien: Earth” was shot in Thailand.

Dinklage, who won four Emmys for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in the HBO fantasy hit “Game of Thrones,” recently appeared in the film “Roofman” opposite Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst, as well as “Wicked” alongside Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. He also starred in “Dexter: Resurrection” and will potentially lead a new iteration of “Poker Face” as detective Charlie Cale, taking over the role from Natasha Lyonne. Rian Johnson is currently shopping that version around Hollywood after the series was canceled at Peacock after two seasons.

“Alien: Earth” is created for television and executive produced by Hawley alongside EPs Scott, David W. Zucker, Clayton Krueger, Emilia Serrano, Bob DeLaurentis, Peter Calloway, Monica Macer, John Campisi and Simon Emanuel. The show is produced by FX Productions.

Deadline broke the news of Dinklage’s casting.
