Offset is recovering and on the mend after being hospitalized following a shooting in Florida.
On April 10, a spokesperson for the 34-year-old rapper confirmed to TODAY.com that “Offset has been released from the hospital and he is up and walking.”
“We’re incredibly grateful to the doctors, nurses, and the entire hospital staff who took such great care of him,” the spokesperson added.
Offset, whose given name is Kiari Cephus, was shot in the valet area outside of Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood in Florida, around 7 p.m. on Monday, April 6, the Seminole Police Department said.
The artist, who shares three children with Cardi B, was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
In an April 10 Instagram post, Offset also gave an update on his wellbeing. He also expressed his gratitude to those who have supported him during this time.
“Thank you to everyone who’s checked in on me and showed me love! I’m good….but I’m planning to be better!” the rapper wrote, adding that he’s focused on his family, his recovery and his music.
He wrote that he’s “realizing that life is made up of quiet wins and loud losses… Life’s a gamble and I’m still playing to win.”
That same night Offset was shot, rapper Lil Tjay was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct in connection with the shooting, police said. A second person was also detained at the scene but has not been charged, police spokesperson Gary Bitney told NBC News.
Lil Tjay’s lawyer, Dawn M. Florio, denied the claims that he was involved in the shooting, calling the accusation “rumors.”
“Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting. Any reporting to the contrary is false,” she wrote on Instagram. “We encourage people to consult trusted news sources, and to verify the accuracy of any reporting, before reflexively sharing or repeating baseless rumors.”
Lil Tjay bonded out of jail Tuesday, April 7, where he briefly spoke with reporters saying, “I didn’t do no d— fighting.”
Bitney added an “investigation to identify one or more additional persons involved in the incident is ongoing.”
