Anonymous Content has brought in former top Paramount communications executive Liza Burnett Fefferman as Chief Communications and Marketing Officer. The management and production company’s President and CEO Darren Walker made the announcement at a companywide town hall this morning.

This is a newly created role. Anonymous Content, which had been relying solely on outside PR firms, will now create a centralized communications and marketing organization under Fefferman who will report to Walker and serve on his executive leadership team.

“Liza is a force – so many trusted colleagues recommended her, and it became immediately clear why,” Walker said. “She’s a big thinker, strategic powerhouse and exceptionally resolute in setting the highest bar. I am elated to partner with someone of Liza’s caliber, experience and integrity as we build on Anonymous Content’s legacy and chart its next chapter.”

Most recently, Fefferman was EVP, Communications for Paramount’s Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, managing corporate, strategy, media relations, crisis, internal, social impact, programming, consumer insights and awards for the portfolio, which included the studios arm as well as MTV, Comedy Central, Paramount Network, Smithsonian Channel, CMT, Pop TV, TV Land and Logo. She also was the Co-Head of MTV Documentary Films, which she founded. She left in August, on the eve of Skydance’s acquisition of parent Paramount Global.

During her more than nine years at Paramount and predecessor Viacom, Fefferman worked on such signature series as the Yellowstone franchise, South Park and The Daily Show, with the labels under her purview earning 193 Emmy nominations and 50 wins as well as seven Oscar nominations and two Peabody Awards.

“Anonymous Content’s enviable talent roster, culture-defining films/series/commercials and creative independence are unmatched,” Fefferman said. “When Darren approached me, I jumped at the opportunity to work at a company I deeply respect with a visionary and transformative leader I’ve long admired and a singular long term investment partner in Emerson Collective.”

Prior to Paramount, Fefferman held senior positions at RADiUS-TWC, Samuel Goldwyn Films and The Weinstein Company. She began her career at Dan Klores Communications where she created DKC/Film.
