Former NFL QB Owns Key Piece of 2025 World Series History

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ 2025 World Series title was one for the ages, and a former NFL quarterback possesses an integral piece of that story.

Game 7 may get the headlines with its late-inning homers and near-runs at the plate, but the Boys in Blue had to win Game 6 to even get to that point.

That penultimate game ended with a double play at second base, as outfielder Kike Hernandez snagged a catch and quickly threw to Miguel Rojas before Toronto Blue Jay Addison Barger could tag up.

That bag now holds a prominent place in the office of a high-level athlete in another sport: Derek Carr.

Why Does Derek Carr Have Second Base?

The longtime Oakland-Las Vegas Raider and (briefly) New Orleans Saint is a California native and lifetime Dodgers fan, according to David Vassegh of AM 570 and SportsNet LA.

So when Carr and his brother, fellow NFL QB David Carr, had a chance to secure a piece of sports history, they took it.

“We have it in the office and we put it right in the door where we do our ‘Homegrown’ deal. If you want to come in our office, you have to round second base to come in. It’s awesome,” Derek Carr said in a video shared by AM 570.
