Don’t think you can steal from a Bond girl without getting caught. Financial advisors stole more than 18 million Swiss francs (about $23 million USD) from the original Bond actress, Ursula Andress, over the course of eight years. Italian authorities confirmed today that they were able to recover about 20 million euros in assets, including 11 real estate properties and 14 plots of land cultivated as vineyards and olive groves, bought with stolen money. “I am still in shock,’’ Andress said of the recovery, per AP News. “I was deliberately chosen as a victim. For eight years, I was courted and wooed. They lied to me shamelessly and exploited my goodwill in a perfidious, indeed criminal, way in order to take everything from me. They took advantage of my age.’’ The money was also used to invest in foreign companies and was “channeled through transactions designed to conceal their source.”
Andress starred as Honey Ryder in the first James Bond film, Dr. No, and as the former secret agent Vesper Lynd in the Bond parody film Casino Royale. She eventually retired from acting and has lived in Europe since 2022, where she lives as the “most gorgeous woman on the planet,” according to Lisa Rinna. The thieves are lucky Rinna wasn’t on the case — Scotland was only a short flight away.
