I don’t want to call myself a trendsetter by any stretch of the imagination, but I have been writing about how Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni should settle out of court for approximately 14 months, so I’m not exactly surprised to hear that the judges presiding over the case want the same thing. On Monday, April 6, Deadline reported that lawyers from each party met with Magistrate Judge Sarah L. Cave, who was just circling back, so to speak, on whether these guys wanted to settle yet. You may recall that back in February, the parties met in color-coordinated outfits for a court-ordered settlement conference that ended in a deadlock. The April meeting did not go any better. Despite ten of Lively’s 13 claims getting dismissed, she doubled down on social media, writing that she brought this case to address the “pervasive RETALIATION” (caps lock hers) she faced in the aftermath of It Ends With Us’s press tour. Of course the parties still could settle ahead of their May court date, but … will they? Probably not.
