‘Bob’s Burgers’ Voice Actor Rescued From Fiery Car Crash, Hospitalized

“Bob’s Burgers” voice actor Eugene Mirman was hospitalized with “serious injuries” on Tuesday after he was rescued from a fiery car crash in New Hampshire.

Mirman, who voices Gene Belcher on the Fox animated sitcom, was driving on the F.E. Everett Turnpike when he crashed his 2026 Lucid Gravity into the Bedford Toll Plaza shortly before noon, according to a press release from New Hampshire police. The NHPD identified the 51-year-old Mirman as the driver.

As his vehicle erupted into flames, Mirman was pulled out of his car window and assisted by witnesses including a state trooper, alongside New Hampshire Gov. Kelly Ayotte, who happened to be driving with her security detail near the wreckage. Mirman was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

“I want to thank the Trooper on my security detail and the bystanders who stepped up to help at the scene of the crash for their brave lifesaving efforts today,” Ayotte said in a statement shared on X. “Joe and I are praying for the full recovery of the driver who was injured today.”

Colonel Mark B. Hall also issued the following statement: “Certainly, their actions were heroic in what they did. Without hesitation, they put themselves in danger to render aid to someone who was in need of it.”

The incident is currently under investigation. No charges have yet been filed.

Mirman has been credited in more than 300 episodes of “Bob’s Burgers” for voicing the only son of the family at the center of the sitcom. His credits also include “Flight of the Conchords” and “Confess, Fletch.”
