The Philadelphia 76ers, of course, have a big challenge ahead of them with Joel Embiid sidelined due to appendicitis surgery. The Sixers are a respectable 19-23 without the big fella on the season, but they are 9-17 without him since starting the season 10-6 in games without the 2023 MVP winner.
When considering the current circumstances in the East standings, the Sixers are likely headed to the play-in tournament. They would need a collapse by the Toronto Raptors over the final two games and Philadelphia would need to win its final two games to catch Toronto and earn the sixth and final guaranteed playoff spot.

While the play-in is the likely way for Philadelphia, which will be a tough challenge without Embiid, the Sixers are not going to throw in the towel. Andre Drummond told reporters:
Who the hell trying to go home? (Expletive), he (Embiid) play or don’t play, the goal is to try and win a championship. Regardless of if Joel Embiid plays or not. We still got 14 other guys that are more than capable of helping us win basketball games.
Drummond and the Sixers will look to end the regular season on a high note when they take on the Indiana Pacers on Friday and the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday before postseason play begins.
